Marcia Howery Award

Marcia Howery directed the Free Clinic of Southwest Washington from 1990 until her death in 2008. In these years, Marcia demonstrated a heartfelt commitment to helping uninsured people receive the healthcare that they needed. Marcia also assisted other free clinics as they got started and grew. Her leadership was instrumental in the development of Washington Healthcare Access Alliance.

The Marcia Howery Award commemorates a life of service to the medically underserved by distinguishing those who continue this work with the same passion.

Any volunteer, clinic employee or community member who embodies the ideals and values of free and charitable care through acts of leadership, generosity, commitment, and mutual support is eligible to receive this award.

Please submit your nominations here. Nominations will be accepted through September 8. The Marcia Howery Award will be presented at the 2022 Washington Free and Charitable Care Conference in Yakima.
